VISIT CANADA
Canada is a beautiful land of natural beauty. Every year, the Government of Canada welcomes hundreds of thousands of foreign visitors on a temporary basis. A person who wishes to visit Canada for tourism, family visit or business trip purposes can apply for a visit visa (temporary resident visa).

Visit Visa
This is an official entry permit document affixed to your passport by Canadian visa office. It authorizes you to enter Canada on a temporary basis.
Usually, a multiple entry visit visa is issued for a duration of either 10 years or the expiry of the passport, whichever is earlier. However, you can stay in Canada for maximum 6 months at a stretch. In some cases, Canadian border officials affix a date which is less than 6 months in your passport, in which case you must leave Canada on or before that date.

Super Visa
This is a visit visa that is issued to parents/ grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, that allows them to stay in Canada for up to 5 years per entry, as against maximum 6 months stay permitted under the regular visit visa.
It is a multiple entry visa, issued for a duration of 10 years, or the expiry of the passport, whichever is earlier.

Extend your stay in Canada
You may extend your stay in Canada as a visitor, for which you need to apply for a visitor record before the expiry of your current status. While this document continues to give you status as a visitor and permits you to stay in Canada longer, it does not guarantee your re-entry into Canada if you happen to leave Canada. For entering Canada again, you would need a valid entry document, such as a visit visa or an eTA.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
An eTA is required by visa-exempt foreign nationals who wish to fly to or transit through Canada. It is valid for up to 5 years or until the expiry of the passport, whichever is earlier.

Transit through Canada
While travelling to your destination, you might need to transit through Canada. In this situation, you might require a transit visa, visitor visa, eTA or may be permitted to transit without any visa, depending on several factors, such as mode of travel through Canada, your nationality, duration of transit in Canada etc.
